Ballast Phoenix Ltd is the UK’s leading producer of Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA), providing the Construction and Civil Engineering sectors with a sustainable alternative to primary aggregates.
We have a number of long term service contracts with major blue chip organisations and we have great growth potential with 11 operational sites from 2017.
In support of our growth plans you will be responsible for marketing >1.5m tonnes of product per annum and the management of a sales team of 7. You are required to manage the team to sell the Company’s products from our production units across the UK, achieving the goals and objectives set out to you in the budget in accordance with volume and price targets. This will require establishing relationships with new customers, and continued development them with existing customers, understanding the market and technical specification requirements and continually seeking out new opportunities and converting them into orders.
You should have previous successful background in managing sales/account management experience in the construction products sector and knowledge in the recycled aggregates market within the UK would be preferable as you will need to be able to understand specifications.
You should have a natural talent for dealing with people, particularly at building and maintaining relationships and be a pro-active Manager adding new skills to the team through leadership and training.
The role will require you to competently demonstrate compliance whilst being an excellent communicator, in writing and face-to-face. You will need to be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, be methodical, persistent, self-motivated, confident and articulate, accurate and flexible.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors as one of the Senior roles in a business of over 120 people, managed by a top management team of 8 people including the National Sales/Commercial Manager. You will be required to report monthly trends and performance from your team, electronically and verbally.
A broad understanding of current UK & European standards as well as working closely with our Environmental and Production Teams.
