Reporting to the Head of Land & Mineral Resources, the Engineering Manager will be enthusiastic and proactive in providing key engineering solutions and asset optimisation, ensuring a safe and efficient operation of all UK plant and machinery. Duties to include:

  • Developing a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the engineering team.
  • To prepare, promote and present engineering capital expenditure proposals with a concise narrative demonstrating a clear financial justification for approval.
  • Managing operational effectiveness and efficiency together with waste levels and provide KPI data for performance measurement.
  • Increasing the awareness of environmental impact and energy consumption, promote best practice and develop and implement a renewable energy strategy. 

You will need to be Degree Educated and a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, with a proven track record in leading high performance teams. It is essential you have a comprehensive working knowledge of CDM regulations and environmental permitting, and have had hands-on experience in loose, fixed, semi-mobile and mobile plant engineering. 

You will have a thorough understanding of the building products industry, specifically concrete plants, quarries, asphalt plants and associated infrastructure.
