The Role

  • Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager
  • Taking an active role in the daily operation of the Unit
  • Supervising the safe and efficient running of a strategic sand and gravel operation, including inert landfill activities
  • The implementation/development of Safety, Health and Environmental compliance in accordance with current legislation and Brett Group Policies
  • Operating the Unit to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, whilst managing costs in line with budgeted expectations
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The Requirements

  • Proven track record in the working of sand and gravel operations and landfill
  • To hold or be working towards a SHE NVQ L3 or above and IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
  • Other desirable qualifications include Inert Landfill WAMITAB COTC Certificate and Diploma in Quarrying Technology or equivalents
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a close-knit team
  • Good mechanical understanding of fixed and mobile plant.
