maximum-demand tariff

A two- or three-part tariff consisting of a maximum-demand charge and a unit (kWh) charge together with, in the case of the three-part tariff, a service (k VA) charge. The service charge is a fixed charge designed to cover the cost of the supply authority’s installation and is based on the required capacity.
