Atlantic Alliance Conference
Description: 

NORTH America’s National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), the US equivalent of the Quarry Products Association, will be hosting the fifth annual Atlantic Alliance Conference at Lansdowne Resort, Virginia (close to Washington Dulles International Airport), from 25–26 September 2008.

The objective of the conference, which will be attended by representatives of regulatory agencies and the aggregates industry who are committed, jointly, to reducing accidents and ill health in the industry, is to share best health and safety practices across the Atlantic, between the US, the UK and Ireland, Germany, Spain, Belgium and other European countries.

Sessions taking place during the 2008 conference will include: The State of the Industry: Safety & Health; Benchmarking Injury Statistics and Best Practices; Safer by Design – Loose Plant; Safer by Design – Process Plant; Aggregates Health & Safety in Europe; Contractor Competence; and Silica & Diesel: Occupational Health Challenges.
