Batching & Blending Systems Ltd (BBsys) business is to provide innovative plant control system solutions.

BBsys advises and supplies complete control system solutions from the initial project conception meetings through to the  implementation and final commissioning.

The company’s primary market sector is automation within the quarry industry.

Modularity is key to the company’s plant control system strategy, this ensures seamless integration of all plant operations within the quarry environment.

BBsys’s diverse range of capability includes batch and continuous plant automation products for:

• asphalt
• concrete
• mortar
• lime
• recycling
• soil remediation.

These core plant automation products complement BBsys’s integrated quarry process solutions for:

• crushing & screening control
• sand & gravel processing
• automated lorry loading
• wash plant automation
• waste and fresh water treatment systems
• recycling plant automation
• MCC panel design and manufacture
• traffic management, using BBsys’s signboard products.

BBsys process control systems play a key part in implementing these demands  through the reduction of manpower, fuel and energy consumption, whilst optimising the plant to produce at is most efficient rate.

All BBsys’s control systems are future proofed to provide for market led requirements through the use of powerful and upgradable processing units.

As an independent systems integrator BBsys can chose from the very best hardware and software products to produce reliable control systems with multi vendor service and support. These choices are however often tailored to customers individual requirements to provide banded systems to complement existing equipments or corporate policies.

The majority of BBsys’s plant control systems are based around “Programmable Logic/Automation Controllers” (PLC / PAC’s) equipments and “Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition” (SCADA) software from the two world automation leaders, Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley), and Siemens.

All systems can be accessed remotely to provide 24/7 support.

Local service support is provided from our bases in Leicester and Lewknor (Oxon), with further support from our accredited service engineers based in Birmingham and Newcastle.

The company’s directors Ron Barksfield and Dave Kittridge both have 30 years+ committed experience in the implementation of automation within the quarry industry. As a testament to their capability some of those early control systems are still working today !

The above depth of quarry automation experience coupled with the ability to resource and manage much larger projects, including mechanical, electrical & IT aspects, allows the company to provide turn key projects.
